GARAGE MINI SERIES

In our video performances we take turns playing the role as the “agent and spectator,” “actor and audience” and one another other’s “doppelganger,” switching from one role to the other, to create engaging and entertaining spectacles, which explore the complex levels of our own personal twin relationship, and the dichotomy of pop culture’s fascination associated with the idea of twins.

In Mini Series, 2015, rather than standing in as one another’s doppelganger, we become our own alter egos while still remaining mirror images of one another. Our characters not only mirror reality but also become a falsified sense of reality because we do not change our personas, only our appearances. Our characters still look like twins, so the viewer is left unsure about what is real, the performance or reality. There is no need for method acting, because there exists a weird blur of performance and just being ourselves, which also creates an uncanny experience.
